July Newsletter - Abby finishes her UD

Utility Title:

Abby –U-CDX Ch Set’r Ridge’s XXIV Karat Gold II UD, Can CD (Hadji x Tissa) just finished
her Utility Title. Abby is also a Specialty winner and most recently won Best of Opposite at the Denver Specialty from the Veterans Class. Abby is trained and owned by Rhonda Dillman. AWESOME! WAY TO GO!


New Champions:

Khorizma-Ch Set’r Ridge’s Khorizma (Canaan x Remi) finished her Championship this
weekend. Khorizma won three majors on her way to her Championship. She is the fourth Champion in her litter.

Jacob- Ch Set’r Ridge’s Jacobs Winning Colors (Zion x Oreo) finished his Championship from
start to finish in two weeks, winning two Best of Breeds over specials on his way. He is owned by Joe Duncalfe and Handled by Andy Linton.

Lisa- Can Ch Lucky Dogs Spent A Buck (Canaan x Jessica) earned nine points in two weeks.
On her way to her Canadian Championship she won a five point major and a Group II. She is owned by Leslie Davey and bred by Ken Kicks, Canada.

Aspen Int Ch Set’r Ridge’s Faith Moves Mountains (Canaan x Josie) finished his International
Championship. Owned by Buffy De Wolf.


New Award Winners:

Richie-Set'r Ridge Richie Rich (Ben x Nadia) was Best Of Breed from the 12-18 class for 1 point
at the Mt. Bachelor K.C. show in Redmond, Oregon June 28th. Richie is owned by Lisa Monical and was handled by Rhonda Brookshire.

Shem- Set'r Ridge's Show Boat (Fitz x Natanya) was BOB from the 6-9 puppy class for 1 point
at the Mt. Bachelor K.C. show in Redmond, Oregon June 29th. Shem is owned by Nancy Alexander and Melissa Newman and handled by Skip Alexander.

Yanni, Chec Ch Set’r Ridge’s All American (Canaan x Nadia) owner: Pavil Vosalik
coming from an international dog show - Central and Eastern Europe Cup (judge - president of the Hungarian Kennel Club - well known and respected expert for English Setter) Yanni´s result.
Yanni is the Central and Eastern Europian Winner,
Excellent 1,
CAC of the Czech Republic,
CACIB,
BOB (best of breed),
the 2 place in the FCI group of hunting dogs.
We attended the World Dog Show in Germany in May where Yanni was rated by mark excellent.
Cricket, Astraes Leap To Conclusions (Canaan x Quasi) was WB/BOW/BOS at the Hockamock
KC show in Wrentham, MA
for her 8th point. Owned by Sue Linhairs & Maura Ptacek.
Reserve and Best Puppy was Set'r Ridge's Stardom ,co-owned by
Melissa Newman & Louis Salmy handled by Phil Nelson. The next day,
Sage, Set'r Ridge's Stardom (Canaan x True) was won 2 points and the next weekend won,
WB/BOW/BOW/BP, and Cricket was reserve.

Hanna- Set’r Ridge A Deeper Faith (Zion x Maggy) is now minored out. Owned by Lincoln
Lloyd.

Shaina- Set’r Ridge’s Imprint (Canaan x Jira) won WB BOW and Best of Breed over two
Specials. She now has eight points. Nancy and Skip Alexander conditioned and handled Shaina to these points.
Tarsha- Sagapore Foreign X Change (Canaan x Jayna) won her first time in the ring. Owned by
Margaret East, Australia.

Talia- Ch Set’r Ridge’s Intensity (Canaan x Eve) won another breed last week. Owned by Rachel
and Melissa D Newman and handled and conditioned by Rachel Barnes.

River- Ch Baysides River Deep (Canaan x Eve) won several more breeds and a Group
placement. Owned by Dana, Ellie, Lynn and Pat. Bred by Melissa, Lynn, Dana and Ellie. Handled by Heather.

William- Ch Eshthetes Splendor In The Grass (Hadji x Katie) Has won several Groups including
a Group I under Annie Rodgers Clark. He is the #1 English Setter at this time (Breed Points). He is owned by Jill Warren and Linda Stebbins.

Sahara- Ch Set’r Ridge’s Everlasting Therapy Dog (Ben x Chloe) won a Group III and a Group IV a week ago.
Owned , bred and handled and trained by Melissa D Newman.


We are sorry to say that we are losing Romeo Montana’s Doberman to bone cancer. He is nine years old, the same age as Montana, born the same month as Montana. We got him when he and Montana were four. We felt we needed a dog to protect Monte, as he was very energetic and liked to wander around the property and climb trees. From the day we got him he took care of Montana. Three days after he arrived her Monte left for the weekend. Romeo wouldn’t eat all weekend. We didn’t understand why until Monte came home on Sunday night and Romeo was back to normal. He served his duty well. We are very devastated. He is a great dog, there will be a void at our home with out him. Fortunately Montana has Emanuel, his setter to help ease the pain. It helps to have another dog of your own to hold and cry with.

We will be home for July watching puppies grow. Hopefully I will get a chance soon to update the photos and information on the web site. If you have wins that haven’t been posted, please email them to me. May God Bless you as much as he has our family. Melissa
